Overview of hardware

The Alius 6502 is based on the Western Design Center WDC65C02 CPU. Other support chips are based around what would have been available in around 1980. The I/O is based on two 65C22 VIA chips. The keypad is just a row and column arrangement of push switches. The display is six 7-segment modules driven from six shift registers.

All parts come to a total cost of around $120USD
